From the club, guests can access multiple trails ranging from beginner to expert in difficulty. Maps and guides to club trails are available at the front desk. Two of our favorite easy hikes are Rainbow Falls (30 minutes from the lower lake boathouse) and Indian Head (approximately 1 mile from the lower lake boathouse). Guests can walk or drive the 3 miles to the boathouse.
The Ausable Club is home to a challenging 9-hole golf course. Play is determined on a first-come first-served basis. Attire for all players includes collared shirts and decent trousers, shorts or skirts. Proper golf or athletic shoes are required.
Guests may rent wooden guideboats or canoes on the upper and lower lakes. Attractions include ice caves on the lower lake, and Shanty Brook, a 1-mile hike from the south end of the lower lake. Or enjoy a swim and picnic at the lower lake boathouse.
A New York state fishing license is required of all persons 16 years of age and older. State licenses are not issued by the club, but information on obtaining one is available at the front desk. All guests must wear a club fishing button. A fishing report, available at the front desk and at the lakes, is also required.
The Ausable Club has 7 har-tru clay courts located throughout the property. Tennis whites and proper shoes are required on the courts.
