The Adirondacks hold a special place in our hearts.
Molly's great-grandparents became members of the Ausable Club in the 1920s. It was a honeymoon destination for both her parents and grandparents. Molly grew up going to the family camp, Tree Tops, on the Upper Ausable Lake every summer.
Ryan's family has lived just outside of the Adirondack park for over 100 years. Ryan grew up hiking the high peaks, skiing at Whiteface Mountain, and boating on Lake Champlain. He has been going to Tree Tops since 2010.
Our relationship blossomed while spending time together at Tree Tops and the Ausable Club. We hope our guests get to experience a piece of what makes this place so magical to us.

From the club, guests can access multiple trails ranging from beginner to expert in difficulty. Maps and guides to club trails are available at the front desk. Two of our favorite easy hikes are Rainbow Falls (30 minutes from the lower lake boathouse) and Indian Head (approximately 1 mile from the lower lake boathouse). Guests can walk or drive the 3.5 miles to the boathouse. Information on longer and more challenging hikes, such as Giant and Gothics, can be found at the front desk.
Guests may rent wooden guideboats or canoes on the upper and lower lakes. Attractions include ice caves on the lower lake, and Shanty Brook, a 1-mile hike from the south end of the lower lake. Or enjoy a swim and picnic at the lower lake boathouse. Guests can drive the 3 miles to the boathouse.
A New York state fishing license is required of all persons 16 years of age and older. State licenses are not issued by the club, but information on obtaining one is available at the front desk. All guests must wear a club fishing button. A fishing report, available at the front desk and at the lakes, is also required.
Enjoy a leisurely game of bowls. Flat shoes required, cold beverage recommended. The court is located in front of the clubhouse.
The Ausable Club has 7 har-tru clay courts located throughout the property. Tennis whites and proper shoes are required on the courts.
The nearby town of Keene Valley has several great shops (The Birch Store, The Mountaineer) and eateries (Noon Mark Diner, ADK Cafe).
Lake Placid, home to the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, has a lot to offer (30-minute drive). The Cottage is a favorite of the bride and groom for lunch and bloody marys.
